I got bored of my Swansea save so thought I'd try something new. I chose MVV after a conversation with a friend about Sensible Soccer, a memory of the Maastricht cup popped into my head, which led me here.
I have been using the same tactic (a very effective 4-1-4-1) in my last few saves and I want to move away from that. There are a few things I wanted my tactic to include. Not all of which are possible and no doubt some contradict each other;
- Possesion Football
- Attacking Football
- Solid Defensively
- Play With a Defensive Midfielder
- Play With an Attacking Midfielder
- Play With 2 Strikers
This has led to me coming up with this, A Sort of 442;
The team is pretty solid in midfield and at full back, with glaring holes up front and in central defence. I have taken advantage of the loan market and brought in 3 players so far (in addition to the 7 loanees already here, nothing special but just to strengthen the squad. I am on the look out for another centre half tho', I may even use the rest of my wage budget (£1000) if there is anyone suitable.
This Seasons Objectives
I have absolutely no idea, media predict 15th so I guess top 8 is the goal.
Only 4 friendly's, so I just played my strongest team in each to gain fitness. Only notable opposition were the Belgians of KV Mechelen where we earned a 2-2 draw. I so enough to encourage me that this tactic will work.
Here we go into the season, I have a feeling I will enjoy this save........
