2035 Season Review
A turn up for the books, and, to be fair, I'm not angry - Molde were just very good and destroyed us 4-0 when we faced them. We've won the league twice with less points accrued than this and the £20 (£10m for league win and £10 for automatic CL group stages) will really help Molde, I hope. Also - this is Molde's highest points tally since 2014, so it just shows how well they have done. It should have been a three horse race but Sarpsborg fell away dramatically. They have two or three of the best kids in Norway and they'll be back, I'm sure. Rosenborg - the only other team to make European groups stages this year (EL) have completely fallen away and are no longer a real threat at all, finishing down in eigth due to a poor head to head with Stromsgodset and Stabaek.
In Europe - we are finally starting to show some superiority in the group stages:
We just have Basel left to play but I'm hoping for another solid run. I noticed that the semi final of the CL run provided us more co-efficient points than the final of the EL. Quarter finals are my target here - but the lottery of the draw is against us.
Player-wise, nobody (except for maybe Yttersain) has disappointed me - as I said, it has been that Molde have played better than us. Allasan has led the line amazingly well and Koffi, Drage, Kouami and Halgunset have all been really solid too. There are a lot of first team regulars who are finding game time hard to come by - particularly Liland, Petterson and Diallo, but I hope they are willing to remain here as rotational/backup options.
With this season's results - I am going to look at bringing in some youth into the first team for next year. In particular, Mansou Doumbia, who has stagnated after reaching the best level that he can from playing 2 team football. He'll probably replace Abou Keita - who, as a non-HG player, becomes slightly less important to my plans.
Onwards to the youth intake, and I feel like trying to explore my long term plans for the club (posting a Team 10 years from now was fun on my Vienna save, but I never got to see it out - hopefully that curse won't strike again!)
