2032 Season Review
Another title wrapped up with minimal fuss. Molde, after losing Berg to Norway, made a pretty miraculous end of season recovery to finish fifth, as did Lillestrom - who flirted with relegation.
Much better news in Europe as our 'CL tactic' is taking shape and tightening us up a lot more at the back. Still no away win but much tighter and picking up points at home too.
The biggest changes in the squad are happening this winter - with Bohlin Falch looking to wind down his career in my 2 team (although they only play the level below us so it's not a big drop) as does Dag Dahm as I look to freshen up my goalkeeping options. Stian Basma promised so much but has failed to deliver and, since an off field change in attitude (whereby he lost his PRO tag) - he's been a pain in the arse. I'm lucky to get £4m from Inter for him. Didier Djemba-Djemba, so good - they named him twice, also leaves for Anderlectch for £9m. He's promising and, on paper, my strongest DMC - but he was brought to make profit, and that he has done.
Replacing them comes in GK Hamnes, who I feel will be first team next season, displacing Liland (although he won't be taking PKs). Hakon Johnsen also joins the first team despite being far too small for a DC. He has made incredible improvements on his jumping in the last year or so (about 4 points) but at 5'8" - can only really be relied on for the covering role. Daouda Fofana is the replacement for Djemba-Djemba and is ok, although not really in the correct role for the regista type player I need. Chris Drage, not of my own youth system, comes to the first team after being converted from a winger. I like his attribute balance and he'll provide a slightly different option in the MC area. He's joined by my second (after Mansou Doumbia) favourite regen, Trond Martin Forsdal, who, at 16, is already good enough for the first team. Not a guaranteed starter, but a lot of potential there and I want him to achieve it. Lastly, Jens Akersvatne, my £350 signing with an incredible scoring record at 2 team level, replaces Tandberg in the striker role. Still a little raw mentally, but I expect him to bag a lot of goals in the future.
I am awaiting the youth intake and a chance to replace my dilapidated 2 team with a bit of scouting on Africa, looking at the players the feeder clubs have (particularly the Aussie one) and picking up any promising Norwegians.
