So I have actually played a few seasons into this, for a few reasons, one to ensure that I could stick with it but also so I can update on a regular basis.
So here goes......
Season 1 - 2016/17 - Report
I started the season after spending a pre season of trying to perfect a tactic, in the end I settled on a strikerless tactic similar to what Liverpool use. This allows me to flood the middle of the park and to be very strong at the back, whilst allowing players at the top to have more creativity.
It worked well in the Friendlies so I was hopeful that this could continue throughout.
In the transfer market I knew that I would not be able to do much as there was just no money in the budget, in either transfer fees or wages.
I did manage to bring in Georgi Peychev a left wing back who would be in as a number one Left Back.
Ruslan Ivanov a right back comes in to take the right wing back spot for his own.
Two loans also came into add a bit of depth in the squad.
The season started off on a bit of a dodgy ground as we only got 4 points in our first three games. If I am honest, things kept up like this for the first two months of the season until my tactics just clicked into place. I am not sure if it is my tactics or the fact that we were shipped out of the cup in the first round, but it seemed to help as we then smashed the wins in till the mid season break.
I had decided to cancel all of my mid season friendlies as I wanted to keep my small squad healthy for the season run in. This back fired as my squad was not ready for the restart. We recovered though and went into a huge run as we won 7 of our remaining 8 games to finish 2nd in the league.
In this crazy league it actually meant we were the first team promoted as the teams around me were second teams and not allowed in the same league as their parent club.
If I am honest I am amazed at winning promotion in this league but I am very pleased that we did.
We used a decent number of players throughout the season but if I am honest Chavorski was the only one who really impressed me. The squad was very small and this meant that at time due to injuries and the like many people had to lay out of place.
It was a very good performance for us and from many of our players.
The issue we had this year was wage budget. We only had 3K to spend and this meant that we could not bring in to many players. As soon as the season ended we had 25K so this will mean that we will be very busy in the summer bringing in players to help our survival efforts.
(On a side note, I think I took some screenies of players from next year so I will add those to my write up, there is another image to add but I am limited to one image at present)
