USM El - Harrach - Season 3 - End of Season Update
Our league form just got better and better as the season went on.
We scored for fun and kept conceding to the minimum. Some really good performances especially considering we are a team of 25, suffered a few injuries, playing twice, sometimes three times a week and completing in three competitions.
The league was wrapped up with five games left to play, and although it looked very comfortable I think ES Setif played below par and should have been better than what they were.
We even managed to win the double when I secured my second Algerian FA Cup.
A nice easy run that allowed me to play some of those that didn't make the 25 man cut for the league registration.
Annoyingly we are only half way through our CAF Confederation Cup campaign because the way it is run in Africa. We have progressed nicely so far but these are only the early stages.
Next up is the group stages and this is when I will start seeing tougher matches. We have drawn against Orlando Pirates, Ajax CT and CA Batna. We all play each other twice with the top two progressing.
The youth intake was unspectacular, I was expect something a bit better seeing how we are investing heavily in youth development. It forced me into doing a lot of manual scouting to find some decent youth, with a few agreed signings already.
Although he doesn't have the highest potential, Sid Ali Khemissa is the closest to first team ready out of the bunch.
Talking about the first team here is their stats.
I won't go into detail of best performers but show you two players who are attracting interest from Europe.
Has such we don't really have a summer with the group stages of the CAF about to begin. I am open minded about my future, I think I have taken the team as far as I can go. They aren't many players willing to join to better us and my key players will soon become unsettled by European teams. I will see what jobs are out there once most of the domestic seasons have finished.
